Siarhiei Panamarou suspected of insulting the representatives of the authorities

The Movement for Freedom (MFF) Kletsk activist is summoned for questioning to the Minsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.

The summons says Panamarou should visit the investigator of the top-importance cases Mr. Azarevich in the Minsk Region Prosecutor’s Office located in Minsk at the address Shchadryna str. 1 at 10 a.m. on July 10.

A criminal case was initiated against the activist. The MFF activist is incriminated with Article 369 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (Insulting a Representative of the Authorities). Panamarou informed that five episodes are investigated. The local senior officials, including the head of the District Executive Committee Anatol Boyka, the head of the District Deputies’ Council Piotar Dudzik, the District Court judge Alena Hastsieyeva, etc., decided to appeal against him together.

Panamarou considers this criminal case to be a political persecution relating to the criticism of the local authorities on the pages of The Active Kletsk newsletter issued by him with great efforts for several years now. It is known that the criminal case is based on the seven articles from The Active Kletsk where the investigators found some signs of insults.
