MFF and BPF Homiel activists announce their withdrawal from the regional UDF entities
In their joint statement, the authorized representatives of the local entities of the Movement for Freedom (MFF), of the Belarusian Popular Front party (BPF), and of the NGO’s Association pointed out their readiness to work only for the candidate who advocates “independence, sovereignty, and the European choice for Belarus”.
The statement’s authors don’t agree with the rule that prohibits the participation in the presidential campaigns of the contenders for candidates who didn’t pass the approval procedure of a single candidate from the United Democratic Forces (UDF).
The statement reads as follows: “The absence of flexibility within the UDF, the refusal to make reasonable compromises, and the tendency to maintain all previously passed positions by any means led to the division of the democratic forces of the Homiel region”.
Piotar Kuzniatsou, Valery Putsitski, and Halina Skarakhod who represent the regional entities of the MFF, the BPF party, and the NGO’s Association announce their withdrawal from the current UDF’s composition, and the start of negotiations on forming a new wide coalition of political and civil structures of the region, as well as call on everyone who shares this view to join the common work.
