07/06/10

According to the Organizing Committee’s calculations, ,000 is required for the events dedicated to the 600th anniversary if the Victory of Grunwald and to the 660th anniversary of the birth of king (kniaz) Vitaut the Great.

The events developed by the Republican Civil Organizing Committee include the photo show (0), the national art show, the scientific conference (> 77 ,000), the medieval music festival (,000), and a three-day trip of the Belarusian delegation to the Grunwald Field in Poland (00). The manufacture of the gonfalon banners of the Great Kingdom of Lithuania (GKL) and of the Minsk land will cost 0.

The deputy head of the Organizing Committee Mikola Kupava thinks the public should do everything possible to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the Victory of Grunwald on a worthy scale. Some 30 military gonfalons participated in this largest battle of Middle Ages on the part of the GKL. In 1410, our ancestors demonstrated the example of courageous self-sacrificing struggle for freedom, and gained respect on the part of other European countries. Germans didn’t dare to attack our country for more than 500 years after the Battle of Grunwald.

The Organizing Committee invited everyone who wishes to join the common cause for restoring the historical memory of the people, the national dignity, and the respect for Belarus on the part of other countries. The fulfillment of the celebration events depends on the support of every person. The representatives of the organization that sponsor the celebration of the Victory of Grunwald will be the honourable guests at the events, and will be provided with places in buses and with free visas for the trip to Poland. Those who wish to support the arrangement of the festive events should inform the Organizing Committee of this without delay by phones 206 3317, 8 029 551 3236 (Mikola Kupava), and 8 029 765 1824 (Zmitsier Marchuk).
