Post service is to blame for the officials’ inactivity?

24/05/10

A collective appeal of the town residents anxious about the ecological situation was sent to the addresses of the Biarozauka Town Executive Committee and of the Biarozauka Town Council as early as in March. However, there is still no answer.

The residents asked the local officials to perform the assessment of the environmental influence of the production of glass wool that is planned to start in the nearest future in Biarozauka. The region residents want the public hearings on the ecological aspects of the project to be held prior to taking the final decision to construct the new factory.

On May 2, at the meeting with the newly elected deputy of the Province Council and the head of the Town Executive Committee, the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activists asked why they have still received no answer to the collective appeal. The head of the Town Executive Committee Valery Yavodzik declared that the answer was sent literally in a week after the appeal was received. Could it be that the post service is to blame for the problem between the civil community and the local authorities?

The head of the Town Executive Committee promised to send the answer once more in the nearest future. The activists promised to wait a little.

“If we do not receive the answer to our appeal in a week, we would file a complaint about the non-execution of the law On the Citizens’ Appeals”, the MFF activist Siarhiey Trafimchyk says.
