Czechia-Poland-Belarus: white spots of life under the Soviets

The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) Hrodna activists invite everyone to take part in a civil discussion on the topic of the common totalitarian past of Belarus, Czechia, and Poland.

 

The participants will talk about the history of the opposition movements and the states of the Central and Eastern Europe in 1945-1989, about the state ideologies, about the activity of the communist secret agencies of these states, about the tragedies of common people, about the activity of dissidents in the context of totalitarian regimes, about the problems of lustration, etc.

 

The following persons will speak before the Hrodna citizens: Doctor of History Patrick Plescott, the member of the National Memory Institute (Poland) and Doctor of History Petr Rowbla, and the member of the Modern History Institute of the Czech Academy of Science. The speeches of the foreign guests will be translated by way of simultaneous interpretation into Belarusian.

 

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the address: Budzionaha str. 48a, hall No.69 (the shortest path will be marked with arrows both near the building and in the building itself).

Everyone is invited. Entry is free.
