Observers not being allowed to watch the vote count?
The head of the election commission No.19 of the Rakasouskaya constituency No.9 Iryna Makhrachova made a public statement on the fact that the rights of the observers will be limited at her precinct.
Makhrachova who heads the commission warned the candidate for deputy Artsiom Lava and his authorized representative Siarhiey Mudrachenka saying that she won’t allow the observers and the candidate’s authorized representatives to come close to the table with ballot papers during the vote count.
When the candidate objected that his representatives will be at the place where they could see the ballot papers, the head of the commission said: “You will observe the vote count from the place defined by me” and pointed at the armchairs for observers located at a remote corner of the premise.
According to Makhrachova, the observers have no need in watching the vote count procedure since a democratic candidate is included in the election commission (For the first time ever, a member of the Belarusian Popular Front party – Mr. Masiuk – was included in the commission No.19).
