British ambassador to observe the election in Hrodna Province

The British ambassador Ms. Rosemary Thomas intends to visit the voting precincts in Masty, Slonim, and Lida towns.

Ms. Thomas accepted the invitation of the Belarusian government for diplomats to take part in observing the progress of the local election. On March 25, Ms. Thomas will visit the Hrodna province together with the deputy head of the embassy Deborah Ratcliff.

For reference – Ales Zarembiuk, Vasil Klimovich, and Siarhiey Trafimchyk are the delegates from the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) to local Councils in these towns. They experienced a significant pressure on the part of the security agencies during their election campaigns.
