65 MFF members nominated as candidates

A number of registration refusals have been of formal nature, and will be appealed against in the coming days.


The following persons from the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) became the candidates for deputies to local Councils in Hrodna region − the MFF Council member, the former of the Masty District Councillor Ales Zarembiuk, the defender of the interests of the Nioman glass factory workers well-known in Biarozauka town, the MFF activist Siarhiei Trafimchyk, the former deputy of the Lida District Council and of the Biarozauka Town Council Valantsina Zayko, and other persons well-known in the region.


Five of the nine contenders of the MFF got the status of candidates for deputies in Homiel region. These include the head of the Civilization Youth European Club, the Printed Word organization deputy head Darya Suvorava (Homiel), the lawyer of the Zhlobin town organization named the Belarusian Consumer Rights Protection Society Anatol Papou (Zhlobin), and others.


Several MFF activists will continue campaigning in Brest region, including the former deputy of the Pinsk Town Council in 1990’s Yuras Bakhtsierau, the MFF Brest region coordinator Zmitsier Trattsiak (Bielaaziorsk), and the founder of the Ukrainian Culture Society Ludmila Ramanovich (Malaryta).


Among others, the following persons were registered as candidates for deputies in Mahilou region – the Uzhorak newspaper chief editor Eduard Brokarau (Horki), the Free City newspaper chief editor Siarhiey Niarouny, and the current deputy of the Mahilou City Council Ales Ahieyeu.


24 MFF activists became candidates in Vitsiebsk region. Seven delegates of the organization will continue campaigning in Minsk, including the adviser to the MFF leader Ales Lahviniec, an ecologist and the MFF Minsk coordinator Yuras Mielashkievich, and other persons.


The following persons were registered as candidates in Minsk region – economist Zmitsier Babitski (Barysau), and Illa Dabratvor who is simultaneously delegated to three local Councils of different level: Minsk Region Council, Minsk District Council, and the Kalodzishchy Village Council.
