Leading European policy makers discuss the situation in Belarus

Aliaksandr Milinkievich spoke at the summit of the European People’s Party on Thursday, March 25.


The summit was attended by the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, the leaders of the 17 EU member-states, including Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, Silvio Berlusconi, Jan Peter Balkenende, Fredrik Reinfeldt, and others.


The issues of the economic crisis and of the financial situation in Greece, Portugal, and Spain were discussed at the summit of the leaders of the Europe’s center-right parties.


The discussion on Belarus concentrated on the assessment of the results of the dialogue, on the recent violations of human rights, on the prospects of the economic cooperation with our country, and on the progress of local election.


“Belarus continues to be on the agenda of the united Europe”, the leader of the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) noted.
