Registration of candidates: the first results

25/03/10

The sessions of the constituency commissions took place in Minsk with voicing of the decisions on registering the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activists as candidates for deputies.

It is already known that seven MFF activists became candidates for deputies of the Minsk City Council. These are – Zmitsier Shulakou (the 5th constituency), Viktar Yanchurevich (the 49th constituency), Artsiom Liava (the 9th constituency), Andrey Sheuchyk (the 10th constituency), Yuras Mielashkievich (the 28th constituency), Ales Lahviniec (the 30th constituency), and Yuras Salodki (the 44th constituency).

Alaksandr Nikalaychuk who was nominated in the 48th constituency of the capital and Mikita Krasnou (the 4th constituency) weren’t registered as candidates due to the allegedly high quantity of false signatures.

In the regions of the country, most sessions of the district commissions will be held on March 25. The registration results of most candidates will be known close to the evening.

At the moment, there is information on registration of Tamara Karyzna in Sharkaushchyna constituency, Eduard Brokarau from Horki town, Ales Silkou from Mahilou city, Zmitsier Tretsiak from Bielaaziorsk town, Anatol Papou and Halina Kayan from Zhlobin town, Alaksandr Dziemienchuk from Kamianiets town, and Yury Bakhtsierau from Pinsk town.

The MFF activist Andrey Stryzhak was denied registration in Rechytsa town. Spartyunaya constituency No.49 where he was delegated is the only constituency in Homiel province where an MFF representative is present in one of the precinct commissions.
