Alaksandr Milinkievich meets foreign journalists (photo)
On March 22, the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) leader had a long talk with the representatives of mass media and NGOs from Germany, Austria, Poland, and the Netherlands.
The main issue raised by the foreign press was the possible participation of Milinkievich in the forthcoming presidential election.
In addition to Milinkievich’s attitude towards the 2011 presidential campaign, the meeting participants were interested in the reasons of disunity of the Belarusian opposition, in the economic and social programme of the MFF, in the preparation to the celebration of the Freedom Day (or the Independence Day), in the meaning of this holiday for Belarusians, as well as in a range of other issues.
In the evening, Milinkievich was interviewed by the Figaro magazine, and met Berlin students who are doing a research on Belarus.
Milinkievich pointed out the great role of mass media in maintaining the political interest to Belarus abroad.
