Research of local problems in Luniniets (photo)
The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activists questioned Luniniets town dwellers on the following topic – What problems do you want the local authorities to solve?
It was discovered that the townspeople worry about deficiencies in the operation of the public transport and about the problems of the housing and utilities sector.
The questioning revealed the facts of different amount of payment for identical volumes of housing and utilities services by the residents of the adjacent houses, and the absence of dependence of the payment for heating with the temperature regime in the living quarters.
Luniniets dwellers also worry about the absence of children’s playgrounds in the courts of the newly built apartment houses.
According to local residents, Luniniets became significantly more beautiful after it was chosen for the celebration of the province level Dazhynki agricultural festival in 2005. Monuments in the honour of eminent Belarusians were installed; however, improvement works were performed in a hasty manner which influenced negatively their quality.
The MFF activists intend to choose the most urgent problem of the town dwellers from the prepared list, and to force the authorities solve it. They plan to arrange the collection of townspeople’s signatures under the appeal to the local authorities and organizations responsible for handling the respective problem.
