Alaksandr Milinkievich: EU will find efficient mechanisms of influence on authorities

The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) leader doesn’t think the European Union’s policy in relation to Belarus is wrong.

 

At the press conference dedicated to the Freedom Day (or the Independence Day) celebration, the MFF leader commented on the opinion of futility of the policy of dialogue used by the united Europe:

 

“I don’t think the EU’s policy is wrong, though it is inefficient at the moment. At the same time, there is no alternative to dialogue. A “Berlin Wall” between Belarus and the EU would lead to the annihilation of independence. We need to improve the dialogue, and to find the tools to force the authorities to make steps in the direction of liberalization. I think there is hope the EU finds such mechanisms.
