MFF contenders for candidates holding street pickets (video and photos)
Ales Lahviniec and Yuras Mielashkievich arranged signatures collecting for own support in most attended places of their constituencies at weekend.
Advisor to the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) Chair Ales Lahviniec who is seeking to be nominated as candidate for the Minsk City Deputies Council seat, organized pickets for signatures collecting in front of the Sviata and Maksimus trade centres.
Lahviniec’ picket was attended by the MFF leader Alaksandr Milinkievich together with his deputy Yuras Hubarevich, as well as by other MFF activists. The presence of Milinkievich aroused great interest of the Sukharava district voters of Minsk.
“I’m very interested in what people are talking about. One can read scientific treatises on sociology, and they are important. However, the best thing is to listen to people – and not only in large cities, but also in small towns and even in villages”, the MFF leader explained to Belsat TV his presence at the picket.
Lahviniec has no illusions concerning the possibility to get the deputy mandate. He understands that there will be no honest competition, and that his chances of victory is measly. According to Lahviniets, he uses this election campaign to help people solve their problems, and to tell Belarusians of the alternative way of the country’s development.
Yuras Mielashkievich who is delegated in the Slabadskaya constituency No.28 organized the picket beside the popular Maximus market of the Malinauka sub-district on March 15.
According to the contender for candidate, the event was very positive – twenty people gave their signatures in his support in two hours. The picket even aroused the interest of the market director and the market security service head, as well as of other important local persons.
According to Mielashkievich, the essential advantage of pickets is that visualizing of the campaign occurs – some 2 to 3 thousand people saw the stand with the contender’s name and photo during the picket which lasted for an hour.
