Masty District Executive Committee wishing to rest?

On the eve of the International Women's Day of March 8, the local leadership took the decision that delegating the representatives to precinct election commissions shall take place only till March 5.

The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) Hrodna province coordinator Ales Zarembiuk wrote the complaint to the Central Election Commission due to this reason. He thinks the decision of the Masty district authorities contradicts the Election Code of Belarus, and violates the rights and lawful interests of citizens.

Zarembiuk notes that in accordance with Articles 34 and 35 of the Election Code of Belarus, election commissions shall be formed at least 45 days before elections. The applications and minutes on delegating the representatives to precinct election commissions shall be filed at least 3 days before the date of forming the commissions. The documents on forming the commissions shall be filed till March 7, inclusive, and the sessions of the commissions forming bodies shall take place on March 10, at the latest – as prescribed by the time schedule of the events of the 26th election of local Councils deputies adopted by the regulation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus.
