BIB Council session takes place
The participants of the event discussed the issue of interaction of the coalition entities during the election campaign for local Deputies Councils, the issue of the Freedom Day celebration, and defined the terms of creating the region coalitions of the Belarusian Independence Bloc (BIB).
This regular session was attended by the representatives of the following organizations: the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) (Yuras Hubarevich), the Belarusian Popular Front party (Alaksiey Yanukievich and Viktar Ivashkievich), the Belarusian Christian Democracy party (Dzianis Sadouski), the Young Front movement (Nasta Palazhanka), the Right Alliance youth organization (Yuras Karetnikau), the Youth Christian and Social Union (Aliaksandr Shumkievich), and the Young Belarus movement (Artur Finkievich).
The participants discussed the issues of delegating the BIB representatives to precinct election commissions. The decision was made that the coalition entities’ members will be delegated to election commissions mostly by way of collecting the signatures.
The information on the state of creating the coalition structures in regions was presented. At present, the BIB coalitions are formed in the Brest, Homiel, Vitsiebsk, and Mahiliou regions. The decision was made to hold the meetings on creating the BIB Minsk and Hrodna regions coalitions during the ten-day period. The session of the Minsk region coalition will take place on March 5.
The celebration scenario of the March 25th Freedom Day was considered at the session. The decision was taken that the application for the celebration of the Freedom Day in Minsk will be filed on behalf of the BIB Council members and of the BIB contenders for deputy candidates. Presumably, the gathering of the celebration participants would take place near the Academy of Sciences at 6 p.m.
The BIB Council members considered the aspects of the possible referendum against the increase in custom duties on the motorcars imported into Belarus, as well as the proposal of the Just World party leader Siarhiey Kaliakin to hold joint negotiations concerning the representation of Belarus in the Euronest.
