Classified press-conference

The Active Kletsk (Boyki Kletsk) newsletter editor and the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activist Siarhiey Panamarou wasn’t invited to the meeting with the Kletsk district management which was, in fact, proposed to the authorities by him.

Reading the For New Victories (Da Novykh Pieramoh) newspaper, Panamarou found out the meeting of the Kletsk District Executive Committee head Anatol Boyko with journalists will take place.

Panamarou visited the District Executive Committee to find out the details of this event, and to ask why he wasn’t invited to the said press-conference.

The Legal Department head Tattsiana Handzha explained that Panamarou wasn’t invited because his Active Kletsk publication is unregistered. No single official managed to explain neither why no one sent him the answer to his proposal to hold the meeting of voters and journalists with the officials, nor what issues were discussed at that press-conference.

“I have an impression that the news of the press-conference in the district paper was the figment of the chief editor’s imagination. It’s absolutely possible this event never took place at all. This might have been done to avoid being criticized by the higher authorities for non-execution of Lukashenka’s decision”, Panamarou thinks.

For reference – In the early February, Panamarou proposed the Kletsk District Executive Committee to arrange the meeting of the authorities’ representatives with the voters and journalists.
