Ryhor Baradulin is 75
Аliaksandr Milinkievich and the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activists heartily congratulate Ryhor Baradulin, the People’s Poet of Belarus, with his anniversary, and wish him strong health, long years of life, and further fruitful work for the sake of spiritual enrichment of the Belarusian nation.
It thus happened that Baradulin is in reanimation care on his birthday. He was hospitalized with bilateral pneumonia diagnosis on February 14. The state of his health remains serious.
You can send your congratulations to Baradulin at 5:30 p.m. at the entrance to the Treatment Commission at the Chyrvonaarmieyskaya street. The mass for Baradulin’s health will take place in the Red Church of Minsk at 7 p.m.

Born on February 24, 1935 in the Vierasouka village, Ushachy district. Graduated from the Belarusian State University Philological Department. The member of the Belarusian Writers Union, one of the founding fathers of the Belarusian Popular Front party, and founder of the Belarusian PEN center. The People’s Poet of Belarus (1992). The Belarusian Soros Foundation management member in 1995-1997. Co-Chairman of the Belarusian National Session For Independence (2000).
Began to publish his works in 1953. Published some 70 books in total – poems, humour, translations, essays, etc. His poems were translated to more than 30 languages. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize from Belarus for his Ksty spiritual poetry book.
