Collective appeal to prosecutor’s office helps in the fight against glaze ice
With the help of the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activists, some forty people drew up the complaint to the Pinsk town prosecutor about bad work of public utility services. Organized clean-up of sidewalk began in the entire town the next day.
According to the appeal’s authors, Pinsk Town Executive Committee is responsible for clean-up of town’s sidewalks; however, a significant proportion of them looks like a real skating rink which makes walking on them extremely dangerous for health. The quantity of injuries rose sharply among town residents which can be proved by exceeding amount of work done by the Pinsk Town Clinic emergency station.
The town residents ask the prosecutor to oblige Pinsk Housing and Utility Services to execute the Regulation No.143 of December 30, 2009 of the Ministry of Public Health which reads: “In wintertime, sidewalks and pedestrian areas should be cleared of snow and icing daily, and anti-glaze ice agents should be scattered over them”.
The appealers didn’t receive any official answer yet. However, the MFF activist Yuras Bakhtserau noted that town public utility services started organized clean-up of sidewalks and elimination of glaze ice on them the next day after the letter was sent to the prosecutor’s office.
