MFF leadership meet with the French ambassador
A wide range of issues was discussed during the talk with Michel Raineri in the office of the Movement for Freedom (the MFF).
The MFF leader Aliaksandr Milinkievich told about the peculiarities of the activity of civil organizations and political parties in Belarus, and voiced his plans for the next political and civil campaigns. Aliaksandr Milinkievich told the French ambassador of the purposes for which the MFF was created – namely, strengthening of the sovereignty, struggle for free elections, and integration into the united Europe.
According to the MFF deputy head Viktar Karneyenka, it is very important that the dialogue between the European Union and Belarus includes the requirement for the Belarusian authorities to make steps forward to liberalization and democratization, so that Belarus doesn’t develop by the Azerbaijan’s or even by China’s scenario.
Ina Kuley, the head of the Solidarity Repressed Persons Committee, told about the mechanisms of political repressions used by Belarusian authorities in their fight against the contest. In particular, special attention of the ambassador was drawn to the use of such forms of political persecution as arrests, fines, expulsions from universities, and “political enlistment” to the armed forces.
The meeting participants discussed the idea of holding the forum of French and Belarusian NGO’s, told about the aims of opposition’s participation in the local election, and expressed their position concerning the representation of Belarus in the Eastern Partnership’s Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
During his talk with the MFF activists, Raineri told them about his diplomatic career.
