MFF for transparency in public utility service
The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) Grodna province coordinator Ales Zarembiuk wants to have detailed information on receipt and expenditure of money dedicated for capital repairs of housing facilities.
Zarembiuk sent his appeal to the Housing and Utilities Services state-owned company Mr. Fralou asking him to provide detailed information on receipt and expenditure of money dedicated for capital repairs of housing facilities.
Zarembiuk developed a special report form which he offered for completion to the competent employees of the Housing and Utilities Services. This table has fields to be completed about the total area of housing facilities, the amount of payment for maintenance, and the allocation of money for capital repairs in 2009 which was received from the population and used for capital repairs last year.
“I want to make the information on financing the Housing and Utilities Services and on its expenditures to be transparent for society. People regularly pay money for capital repairs – some for thirty years already – but no one knows how this money is spent”, Zarembiuk explains his initiative.
In his answer to the activist’s letter, the Housing and Utilities Services Masty town head promises to provide the information which Zarembiuk wants to know in one of the next issues of the district newspaper.
The MFF Grodna province coordinator wonders why this information couldn’t be also sent to him personally, and hopes the information published in the district newspaper would be complete and true.
