Continuing pressure on Aliaksandr Mekh and his electing team

As activist of Movement For Freedom in Kobryn (Brest region) conveyed the list of his election team (initiative group) to Kobryn district election commission police begun paying visits to his team-mates.

 

- They have already visited three members of my initiative group. Police, in presence of activists’ relatives, always asked them whether they were involved in dealing of blast that had occurred on July 3 in Minsk. Then, police gave them notice paper to come to the district department of the Interior for interrogating procedures- A. Mekh says.

 

- In police station, these ‘suspected persons’ should pass through procedures of giving their fingerprints and genetic samples, - the activist argues.

 

- This is an integral part of pressure on democratic candidates that authorities apply now in order to scarify activists and to make candidate’s participation in the elections invisible. Moreover, authorities put moral pressure on relatives while police visit houses of activists, - Aliaksandr Mekh believes.
