Prosecutor’s office finds a “victim”

20/01/10

The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activist Siarhiei Salash received the answer from the Barysau District Prosecutor’s Office concerning the fact that the head of the state-owned Bus Fleet No. 3 ignored his appeal.

The letter from the Barysau District Prosecutor informs that Salash’s registered letter sent for the attention of Mr. Shkredau, the head of the Bus Fleet No. 3 belonging to the state owned Minsk Province Automobile Transport Company, was lost due to the fault of the orders execution control inspector Ms. Stasievich.

Prosecutor Audziei answers to Salash’s appeal that his letter with propositions on the use of the Belarusian language for the needs of public transport didn’t reach Mr. Shkredau. Ms. Stasievich who is guilty of losing the letter will be disciplinary punished.

“Barysau power system simply defends the violations made by its “clients”. Shkredau is already in his second term as the deputy of the local administration. Knowing of his attitude to common people, I think he just ignored our letter in which we proposed to use Belarusian language for the needs of Barysau public transport. Prosecutor’s Office didn’t want to punish him and shifted the blame to the woman who works there. Unfortunately, we can’t influence this decision”, Salash says.
