Dear countrymen,
Dear friends!
Traditionally, we all celebrate Christmas and New Year holidays in the warm family circle. This is also the time to analyze the recent past, and the time of hope, expectation, and desire of a better future for oneself, for our relatives and friends, for our country.
The year 2009 was not simple. It produced great challenges which we all know about. However, it didn’t deprive Belarusians of the hope for worthy, civilized, and European way of development and further prosperity. Inclusion of our country into the EU Eastern Partnership initiative gives us the historical opportunity to reconstruct Belarus and return to the European family.
Belarus is on the eve of changes. The current regime won’t last forever, so we need to think and act today to strengthen the foundations of our independence, to expand democratic European values in our society, and to defend the rights and dignity of every person. We need to do everything we can so that these changes bring better life to Belarusian families, open a wider, European perspective for us all and for our children, so that each Belarusian feels protected and needed at these crucial times, and so that each Belarusian values the existence of our Belarusian nation and statehood and cares about it.
The path to freedom is difficult, but only this path gives us the opportunity for worthy and prosperous life.
Dear countrymen! I’d like to express my warmest wishes at these Christmas and New Year holidays.
May the New year of 2010 bring you and your dear ones good health, optimism and well-being, happiness and sincerity, great results and satisfaction from creative work for your benefit and for the benefit of our society, and may it eventually bring the better future for Belarus, our common home.
Dear Belarusians! I wish your Christmas expectations to come true and the hope for the best, true friends and unbending spirit to help you in your achievements.
