The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activists are engaged in the campaign for the support of homeless people.
The MFF Vitsiebsk activists who founded the Harmony charity club started the Life’s Island campaign for the support of homeless and poor people.
The members of the club periodically go to the city to give warm food to homeless people and to people who have no money and, thus, have to stand on the street beside a church or a shop asking donations.
The event’s participants understand that a modest meal (warm potatoes or mush with a slice of sausage and tea) won’t solve the problem of the homeless; however, the activists hope to provide at least such support to these people.
“The main purpose of this campaign is to draw the authorities’ attention to people who have no roof over their heads, no food, and no warm clothes. This is especially important since there are neither public nor civil organizations in Vitsiebsk which would care about the fate of the homeless and the hungry”, the MFF Vitsiebsk province coordinator Khrystafor Zheliapau thinks.
