The military Make a “Road Repair”

22/12/09

The Movement for Freedom (the MFF) Barysau town activists received the answer to their address concerning the emergency state of the road near Siarebranikava street.

The answer to the letter sent by the MFF activists Siarhiei Salash and Aleh Matskievich to the executive authorities came from the Barysau Armed Forces Utilities Office.

“Because of the bad state of this road, Barysau Armed Forces Utilities Office – at own expense – performed works on adding sand-gravel aggregate in the most heavy-going part of this road (30 tons of asphalt granulate was laid) in spring 2009. At present, the motor road specified in your address is included into the repair plan of the motor roads which are the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus for 2010”, lieutenant colonel Lutski answers in his letter.

“The vehicles which could move cross-country have the priority at the territory for which the military are responsible. These vehicles include armored personnel carriers, infantry combat vehicles, tanks, self-propelled mounts, and KRAZ and MAZ trucks, etc. So “adding sand-gravel aggregate” is, undoubtedly, a blessing for civil cars and their owners. We should only hope that Pechy district residents wouldn’t have to buy military vehicles in the nearest future in order to get to Barysau”, Siarhiey Salash mocks.

Siarhiey Salash and Alieh Matskievich, the local MFF activists, addressed the Town Executive Committee demanding to perform urgent repairs of the part of the road along the Siarebranikava street residential area.
