Some MFF Confiscated Belongings return to Owners (photos)
The confiscated belongings appeared on sale at ridiculously low prices. However, Uskhodni supermarket administration doesn’t allow buying back everything.
In particular, the Movement for Freedom (the MFF) activist Alaksiei Kavalets wasn’t allowed to buy back the shredder.
“We have already started to draw up the documents for purchase of belongings which were confiscated in April. These include desk lamps, wall clock, microwave oven, some furniture, and a shredder. All of a sudden, we’re informed they cannot sell the shredder to us. Allegedly, they are involved in charity and some of our belongings, including the shredder, would be given to the retirement home”, Kavalets tells.
Information appeared that the activists are not the only ones who are interested in the fate of the property confiscated from the MFF. As became evident form private talks, the sale of certain things was suspended by the order of some unidentified person given to the supermarket management.
The prices of some belongings currently on sale are only symbolic. For example, while the LG microwave oven costs Br280,000 (some €67), the presentable-looking writing table which was used by Aliaksandr Milinkievich is being sold for Br60,000 (some €15). It’s also known that the confiscated PCs are in the disassembled state.
