Milinkevich met activists in Mikashevichy

Vital Karatysh drafted to regular army right after his declaration to run elections has been signed out to register as a candidate. An activist is convinced that army officials conceded him only because of independent media reaction. Now he will be able to present signatures collected to the Luniniec district electoral commission by his own.

Ryhor Kastusiou Gets Good Support in Shklou (Photo)

Aliaksandr Milinkevich visited Shklou (Mahiliou region) to support Ryhor Kastuseu, an MP candidate from the region’s democratic civic society, who runs elections there. Ryhor Kastusiou, a former head of the town’s communal service office, has been enjoying great people’s support because he is known as a decent and honest person. A lot of people openly express their sympathy to Ryhor, saying that they will ballot for him in elections.

Are Members of District Electoral Commissions Allowed to Use Laptops?

Juras Meliashkevich, a member of the Jasieninskaja district electoral commission (DEC) №100 and an activist of the Movement for Freedom, lodged an inquiry to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on the possibility to use notebook computer during the work in the DEC.

Milinkevich commented Kazulin’s removal

- The decision of the Belarusian Social Democrat Party (Hramada) congress (BSDP) on the party’s leader removal cannot be treated as exclusively the party’s internal problem because it is quite an issue of moral principles, - the leader of the Movement for Freedom commented the replacement of Aliaksandr Kazulin from the position of the BSDP (Hramada) Chairman.

Wives of democratic activists interrogated by KGB

Wives of democratic activists, Alena Kavalenka, a teacher of chemistry, and Ina Bernikovich, a teacher of biology, have found themselves being closely watched by the KGB. KGB agents interrogated them about an explosion which occurred in Minsk on July 4.

“Not to let him out” is the order!

On July 25, Vital Karatysh, an activist of Movement For Freedom in Kazhan-Haradok (Brest region) was taken to serve in the missile brigade 465 which is situated in the Asipovichy district (Mahiliou region). Being called in the army right after his declaration to run elections the activist is not allowed to leave military unit to get registration for elections as one of candidates in the Luniniec district (Brest region).
