Milinkevich ready for talks with opposition party leaders that would be organized by prominent intellectuals

Aliaksandr Milinkevich expressed readiness to hold talks with opposition party leaders at a meeting that would be organized by prominent Belarusian intellectuals.

The politician met with representatives of the Belarusian Intelligentsia Council on Monday to discuss the current situation in the country and steps to consolidate opposition forces.

Belarusian intellectuals are ready to mediate between Mr. Milinkevich and several other leaders of a coalition known as the united opposition forces amid a growing rift between the former presidential bidder and party leaders, including Anatol Lyabedzka, chairman of the United Civic Party, and Syarhey Kalyakin, head of the Belarusian Party of Communists.
